Dear Joann: Where to start? How about January 17, 2012 at 198 lbs (pant size 38) – (body fat 32%). It’s now May of the same year and that number is 165 (pant size 32/33) – (body fat 21%). During the Christmas and New Year holidays, my wife Cindy and I had reached the point of utter disgust with what we had let ourselves become.
Cindy heard about the Ideal Protein Program from an out-of-town relative and her interest was piqued because the protocol discouraged any exercise; for me that raised nothing but skepticism. But blessedly, we visited Joann Cooper at her RenuU office and the rest is an amazingly successful story. My skepticism melted quickly away (couldn’t resist the pun) the first few weeks.

Dear Joann: On behalf of my wife and myself I want to thank you for introducing us to the Ideal Protein program. When I first heard you speak about the program and why it is effective, I knew that it was the right program for us.
In my 30’s, I was somewhat of a gym rat. I worked out six days a week, 2-3 hours at a time. During this time I came to know several professional bodybuilders. They all taught me that bodybuilding was 90% diet. Watching what they consumed prior to competition paralleled to the Ideal Protein program you offer.
What also drew me to the program was the clarity on what to eat and what was not absolutely allowed. A very black and white program that was easy to follow. The first week was a definite period of adjustment. The second week started to become a routine and with the results by then, we were both excited and very encouraged at that time.
Due to the program, we were not eating out at restaurants. The amount of money we saved over this period easily paid for not only the program but allowed to bank some vacation money.
After two months and 30 lbs less of me, people that have not seen me during the program are truly astonished. Many inquired if I had an illness to lose so much noticeable weight so quickly. That’s when I hand them your card.
Now that I am on maintenance, it is easy for me to make smart and delicious food choices. The loss of the weight has had multiple benefits both physically and mentally. I believe the only reason someone chooses not to do anything about a weight problem is because they are not sick and tired of being sick and tired as I was. Dear Joann: My husband, Ross McKenzie and I were referred to the wonderful Joann Cooper by a very good friend who had been extremely successful on the Ideal Protein plan.
We began our adventure with Joann and Ideal Protein on January 3, 2013. My weight loss goal was 19 pounds, Ross’ was 26 pounds. From the beginning, we were dedicated to making this weight loss plan work for us, and with Joann’s guidance and encouragement, the plan did exactly what we were told it would.
I have been on many, many weight loss programs throughout my lifetime, but never one as satisfying and effective as Ideal Protein. ~Dorothy: I’m all of 4ft 10 inches.  Not what most people would call tall.  And that’s when most people would think someone that size wouldn’t need to lose weight…wrong! For too many years, my husband and I thought we were eating healthy.  We put much thought into what we ate and how we cooked.  We became “label readers”, read articles on how to eat healthy. “Loose  those extra 10 pounds and keep it off” type of stuff.  All with good intentions. NONE OF IT WORKED.  Deep down I knew it would take someone to tell us how to, what to and when to eat to be successful.  RenuU and Ideal Protein taught us how to do all those things.  The research and support between the two was the answer for us.  They taught us why when we thought green beans, tomatoes, carrots, avocado’s and other presumed foods that are “healthy” for you really needed to be eaten in extremely limited amounts.  They broke down the difference in sugars and carbs and fiber in most often eaten foods, and which foods to stay away from for initial weight loss.  And then when your weight loss goal was met, how to combine certain foods back into your meals.  I won’t lie, there were times I wanted to “cheat”.  The reason I wouldn’t let myself cheat was because I SAW RESULTS every week.  I guess this is where each person’s will power and determination comes in.  But in reality, following the program is easy and thought out for you.  You will find yourself recreating old recipes and keeping them in your meal rotation even after you weight loss goal.  When I went on “Maintenance” and could eat whatever I wanted, I was really surprised that the foods I thought I missed, didn’t taste nearly as good as I thought they did.  Now I just don’t want them, I don’t crave them anymore.  Once you go thought the 4 phases, you come to this mental state of what foods you will or will not reach for.  I look great and feel great.  I can safely say we will never eat like we used too again.  Thank you Joann for your support and guidance.
